ABOUT US

The People Behind DYSS

DYSS is led by CEO Lizabete Berisha, who brings over two decades of experience in the social and community sector. Liz’s career began at 18, assisting refugees from the Kosovo war through the Albanian Australian Community and later supporting post-war recovery efforts with World Vision. She has worked in crisis centres, managed complex cases in transitional housing, and advocated tirelessly for those who need it most. With this hands-on background, we understand the challenges faced by people with complex needs and what it means to provide support that’s practical, respectful, and truly empowering.

"DYSS is like family. We know that real support means being there when it matters most, offering not just help, but a genuine sense of belonging and understanding. Our goal is to create a safe space where people feel valued and truly at home."

Expertise in Complex Support

DYSS isn’t afraid to take on challenging situations. Our team has extensive experience supporting people with high-intensity needs, from those transitioning out of the justice system to people navigating mental health issues. We provide stability, understanding, NDIS support and practical strategies to help even in the most difficult situations, ensuring no one is left behind.

Why Choose DYSS?

We understand that choosing the right support provider is about finding people who genuinely care and go beyond the basics. Here’s what makes DYSS different:

We’re There When Others Aren’t

Many of the people we support have complex backgrounds and face challenges that require more than standard assistance. Our team often steps in when others can’t, offering continuity of care and being a reliable presence even in tough situations. From crisis moments to building long-term routines, we’re there for you, just like family.

More Than Just Support—We’re Your People

At DYSS, we know that sometimes people need more than a service—they need someone who truly cares. That’s why we focus on creating a sense of family and belonging for our participants. For those who might not have close relatives or consistent support, we become a stable, reliable presence they can count on. It’s about making sure everyone feels valued, respected, and never alone.
